Help Yourself Help
What
- A collective abecedary of personal thoughts, tips, tools for creative, resourceful caregiving.
- Destined to be used and augmented by anyone in the position of caring for someone, particularly in challenging, draining situations when one has to care for a sick, handicapped, dependant relative.
- For professional caregivers too, to revive their art and hearts, to find and come up with original resources a little off the map.
Help Yourself Help is a work in progress.
How
Key words function as abecedary entries to personal thoughts, tips, tools that have potential to help someone look after someone else, and to look after themselves too as a caregiver.
Short, syhthetic, inspirational entries.
Please note that Help Yourself Help is not destined to, and will not compile, medical information.
Here is a place to share original, personal insights and ideas, that have proven helpful in light of the contributor's experience, to inspire other caregivers to work with who and what they are, and find of resources too.
The approach by keywords should be precise enough to be helpful, and broad enough to encompass a variety of situations in care, without having to name medical conditions. Indeed we are more interested in situations than clinical labels (which can actually be part of everyday problems, and limitating, so, not here).
Who
If you wish to introduce yourself and say a few words on your caregiving situation
- E - Mother moved from disoriented to now heavily dependant following illness over 5 years.
