Welcome to the Monkey Mind Massage by Hacking with Care! Here are four illustrated massage moves for the head, designed in a postcard set available for printing and sharing! The Monkey Mind Massage is easy to give, and can help your friend calm down and get a break from excessive mental chatter.

Here are 4 illustrations of simple massage moves for the head. Together in a sequence they make for a lovely treat we like to call the Monkey Mind Massage, very helpful to calm a restless mind.

Applied in a moment of crisis and/or regularly, it can help slow down a hyper-active intellect, pause ruminations and worries, regain clear vision, find peace, and alleviate symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, irritability, headaches, and more.

Like in most massages, it is the affectionate and patient repetition of the moves that will make a difference, not just the technique. The moves on the forehead, for example, would ideally be repeated 30 times, without rushing.

Pressure and rhythm would ideally vary, according to your friend's tastes and your own instincts about them; From light to quite strong, super slow to moderately fast.

The Monkey Mind massage is best applied with your friend lying down on the their back and you sitting at their head.

Getting Ready

Before your start your massage please visit the General advice for massage page. Make sure that there are no contra-indications to giving/receiving massage for any of you, and become aware of any precautions you should take, depending on your health, settings, etc.

  • IMPORTANT NOTICE - COVID19 : Please note that in times of pandemic such as Covid-19, according to sanitary measures and lockdown, you should only share massages with the persons with whom you are already living, provided both of you are in good health. Massages (especially in the region of the head and face) should be totally avoided if either of you is more at risk of developing serious illness in the event of catching the virus (elderly for example) / is feeling poorly at the time of massage / is sneezing or coughing - whether or not they have a fever. Wash you hands thoroughly before and after of course.
